Top Norfolk Barn Wedding Venues
Traditional country barn venues equipped for weddings
I often get asked by my friends and family if I tend to travel nationwide and worldwide to shoot weddings. The honest truth is that I very rarely have to travel outside of Norfolk or Suffolk as so many couples choose to get married East Anglia! This is mainly due to the incredible variation of Barn Wedding Venues, rolling countryside and coastline. I have decided to write a blog post to cover my favourite Norfolk barn wedding venues in order to help newly engaged couples plan their perfect day! The barn wedding venues featured on this post are ones that I have photographed. All images featured on this blog post © Megan Duffield Photography// www.meganduffield.com
Godwick Hall & Barn, Fakenham, Norfolk
Godwick Hall has been on my bucket list of wedding venues for years and I finally got to shoot there in August 2019! Growing up in the countryside, I have always loved being around fields and livestock. Godwick Hall is a retired rustic farming estate that consists of the main hall where you sleep, eat and get ready. A mere tractor ride away is the large, newly renovated old working farm barn where everything happens from the ceremony to the party! Set in 100 acres of Norfolk parkland, Godwick Hall is a stunning luxury house that caters for both large weddings and small, intimate weddings. The Hall itself is licensed for wedding ceremonies up to 30 people perfect if you are looking to host a cosy wedding day! If you are looking to plan a slightly larger wedding ceremony, the truly unique 450-year-old Grade II listed barn seats 120 guests and offers a duo-ceremony allowing you to have your ceremony inside or outside. In the middle of nowhere, Godwick Hall and Barn is the perfect traditional yet quirky barn wedding venue!

Sussex Barn, Burnham Market, North Nofolk
Sussex Barn is a grand converted 18th-century farm barn that is located just a stone’s throw from Burnham Market. A blank canvas wedding venue, Sussex Barn offers you a blank canvas allowing you to put your own ‘stamp’ on your wedding day. The barn features a large reception room, bar, main barn space for both the ceremony and wedding breakfast and characteristic rooms within the main barns resulting in ‘quiet’ spaces for your elderly wedding guests or ‘play’ spaces for your young guests. Sussex Barn in Norfolk is one of my favourite barn wedding venues as it has everything you need for your big day. Behind Sussex Barn is the White House – a stunning renovated house that features 12 immaculate bedrooms, perfect for wedding accommodation!
Oxnead Hall, Norwich, Norfolk
Run by the brilliant wedding planner team at Unique Norfolk Venues, Oxnead Hall is one of the grandest wedding venues in Norfolk! Oxnead is an idyllic rural estate, privately owned and run, consisting of a Tudor Hall, a newly renovated barn, two estate cottages, an orangery and fifteen acres of stunning walled gardens. Oxnead Hall is ideal if you are looking to host your entire wedding day in one place. This beautiful barn holds 220 guests and provides luxurious accommodation for up to 32 guests. The premises feature sections as well as completely separated barns perfect for both groom and bridal prep. The Great Barn sits 80 guests and is quickly transformed from a seating area for the wedding breakfast and speeches to a large dancefloor that will easily fit a live band or DJ. My favourite aspect of Oxnead Hall is that it offers so many options for wedding ceremonies (civil or religious.) Ceremony options include the on-site church, the Fountain Room, the Orangery and numerous spaces outdoors such as the lake, woodland and the Tudor parterre! The team at Oxnead Hall are so organised and ensure that everything is covered ensuring that you do not have to worry about a thing. The Unique Norfolk Venues team is so friendly, proactive and I have always felt welcome and listened to when working at all of their wedding venues! Keep your eyes peeled for more UNV run venues on this blog post!
