Frequently asked questions by brides and grooms to be!
Frequently asked questions – the questions that couples tend to ask when they initially enquire with me when looking to book myself to photograph their wedding. Explore my FAQ’s below ranging from my booking process, insurance, photography kit and image turnaround. Have a question that’s not featured below? Contact me here or email firstname.lastname@example.org!
How do we book you?
To ensure that you are 100% happy with my services and approach to wedding photography, I aim to meet you over a coffee on a weekday evening to discuss your plans and allow you to get to know me and ask me any questions that you might have. If you do not live locally to Norfolk a phone call is fine. I tend to meet all of my couples at the Cafe Bar Marzano inside the Forum in Norwich. I like to meet my couples in order to explain why having your photo taken and getting natural and creative candid wedding photos is a fun and enjoyable experience!
What is a pre-wedding shoot?
Okay, so an engagement shoot isn’t as cringeworthy as it sounds. Do you have a favourite location where you and your fiancé to enjoy going on a day off? Say the beach, woods, park, gardens? Basically we will go out for the day (accompanied by children and dogs if you have them/ want them to join) and we will have fun, crack some jokes, have a go at you both taking small direction, take photos and then go and grab a drink/ slice of cake if we are near to a cafe! Its as simple as that and is incredibly informal and most of all natural! It’s a great way to overcome those nerves and gain an insight into your wedding day.
When do we get our photos?
This entirely depends on how busy I am/ if your wedding place during peak months (April – October.) For peak weddings you will recieve you photos 6 – 8 weeks after your wedding day. If your wedding takes place November – March the turnaround will be roughly 4 weeks. Due to the Coroavirus/ Covid-19, the turnaround for 2021 weddings will be slightly longer due to the amount of weddings that I have had to fit in due to 2020 postponements.
Are you insured?
I am indeed! I have been working as a professional wedding photographer since 2015 and have extensive wedding photographers insurance and public liability insurance. If you need to provide documents for your wedding venue please email and I will send over a copy.
Do you travel?
I mainly shoot weddings in and around Norfolk however I do often shoot weddings in Cambridgeshire, London and Essex. I have not yet shot a destination wedding however I would love to be able to travel with this career and shoot wedding in idyllic places! If your wedding is over 40 miles away I request a travel fee. If your wedding is over 3 hours away (car journey) I will need accomodation for the night before and the night of your wedding.
Will rain affect our photos?
From my point of view, rain, drizzle or clouds have absolutely no affect on your wedding photos. Overcast light can actually mean that I can easily shoot as the light will be diffused and extremely soft. Shooting in midday sun can be incredibly tricky to work with due to the incredibly harsh highlights and shadows. Yes, rain might result in you getting a tad wet but it just means that we either a) brave it for group photos or b) we find an alternative spot that might be inside or sheltered or c) we change the timings around a bit and conduct the group photos when the rain has passed.
What does your wedding package involve?
I offer 2 wedding photography packages. Both packages consit of a full days coverage starting from prep and ending a couple of hours after the first dance. The only difference between the 2 is the pre-wedding shoot.
